A wheat field with a moody sky

Helena Counselling

It’s difficult to write an opening page, mainly because I’m all about the Therapy and working with you, rather than writing a piece to market myself. Putting that to one side, counselling can lead to you being able to make changes which enable a more fulfilling life. If you think counselling may be what you need my personal strengths are listening carefully to your story to be able to understand you, and helping you understand yourself and your life. As a counsellor I value a calm, caring environment where you can speak freely without judgement about the things that matter to you.

If you think I could help you, contact me to arrange an informal chat to see if counselling would be right for you.

About Me

Hi, my name is Helena. I have been informally involved in counselling people for many years as a teaching assistant, physiotherapist, mum, and friend. During the pandemic, I decided to make counselling official by completing a Post-Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy. As a part of my course, I have worked for a couple of years as a volunteer counsellor with the Maundy Relief charity in Accrington. This has been a valuable experience, where I have worked with many amazing clients who have benefitted from counselling.

Personally, I have an interest in the outdoors, as you can see from my picture. I’ve completed some long-distance hikes in the past and enjoy spending time outside taking photographs of whatever details catch my eye. You can see more about this on my social media pages, a space I use to promote myself as a counsellor.

“I feel so much lighter talking about my past with you, the difference in here [the counselling room] is talking with someone I trust……completely”.
